Ghouls, Streeler and Ghosts

Ghouls (XXX)

Ghouls are ugly creatures that resembles a slimy, buck-toothed ogre. They tend to live in the attics or barns of wizards and witches. They are relatively harmless creatures and are just seen as nuisances because of the noise they make. They are relatively dimwitted, and live off of bugs and other household pests. At most, they will groan and throw objects.

A Ghoul Task Force exists at the Ministry of Magic, under the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. The Task Force is used to remove unwanted ghouls from houses that have passed in Muggle ownership. There is a variety of ghoul, called the Chameleon Ghoul.

Streeler(XXX)

A Streeler is a giant snail that is native to Africa, but has been successfuly bred by Wizards in Europe, Asia and North America. The Streeler changes colour on a hourly basis, and leaves behind a trail of venom so toxic that it burns all vegetation that it touches. Streeler venom is one of the few known substances that can kill Horklumps.

Ghosts(XXX)

A ghost is the disembodied spirit of a once living person. Many ghosts live at Hogwarts Castle. These fleshless spirits commonly seem to have either been afraid of death or have some extraordinarily strong connection to the locations they haunt.

In their paranormal state, ghosts are unable to cause much physical influence. They are visible, and appear as a greyish-silver apparition of their former (living) selves. They may not touch or physically move objects, however in passing through an object, they may impart a sensation of icy coldness. Ghosts are either capable of, or pretend to be capable of, almost being able to taste rotten food
